Terms of Use

By downloading or using Nametag ("the App"), developed by Grant Sherman ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

Nametag is a name-learning app that helps you remember the names of people you meet through spaced repetition and voice-based quizzing. All data is stored locally on your device.

2. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the Apple App Store Terms of Service.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, or rent, lease, lend, sell, or sublicense it.

3. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

Nametag offers the following optional in-app purchases to unlock Nametag Pro:

Payment will be charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of your selected plan.

You can manage subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal in your device's Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

The lifetime purchase is a one-time, non-recurring payment. It is not a subscription and does not auto-renew.

All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be directed to Apple Support.

4. Free Tier and Pro Features

Nametag is free to use with limits of 20 people and 3 decks. Nametag Pro removes these limits. If your Pro subscription lapses, your existing data remains accessible but you cannot add new people or decks beyond the free tier limits.

5. Your Content

You retain full ownership of all content you add to Nametag. We do not claim any ownership or license rights over your content. Your content is stored solely on your device and is not accessible to us.

6. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for information about how we handle data.

7. Device Permissions

Nametag may request access to your camera, photo library, microphone, and speech recognition. All data from these permissions is processed and stored locally on your device. Denying permissions will limit certain features but the App will remain functional.

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Grant Sherman and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

9. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Grant Sherman shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of or inability to use the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim.

11. Apple-Specific Terms

These Terms are between you and Grant Sherman, not Apple. Grant Sherman is solely responsible for the App and its content, maintenance, support, warranties, product claims, and intellectual property claims. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and have the right to enforce them against you.

12. Third-Party Terms

Your use of the App is also subject to Apple's App Store Terms of Service. RevenueCat processes subscription data as described in our Privacy Policy. See RevenueCat's Terms.

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time for conduct that violates these Terms. Upon termination, your license to use the App ceases immediately.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
